Software Developer
Contributed to multiple teams and projects across Kaiku's digital cancer-care platform, working on web, mobile, and desktop applications used by patients and clinicians. The role combined full-stack development, cross-platform engineering, and close collaboration with product and design experts.
- Web app: Developed features using Ruby on Rails, Node.js, PostgreSQL, TypeScript and React, enhancing patient-reported outcome workflows and clinical usability. Delivered multiple features end-to-end from database changes to React frontend.
- Mobile app: Developed features and maintained the Kaiku mobile app, including automated build and release pipelines using Fastlane and CircleCI. Mentored other developers on mobile development and React Native.
- Elekta desktop app: Contributed to an Electron-based desktop application supporting secure clinical workflows. Took ownership of code quality across the full stack including Electron/Node.js backend, Angular frontend, Playwright E2E tests, and design system components within a monorepo. Implemented authentication and identity flows using Keycloak, integrating with complex healthcare environments including on-premises Active Directory SSO via Kerberos.
- Internal tooling: Contributed to backend services and internal tooling with Node.js and Ruby on Rails.

Creative technology studio building research-driven gamified experiences. Serious games, persuasive design, AR, and data-driven interaction.
- EIT projects: As an EIT (European Institute of Technology) partner, participated in multiple pan-European projects from project lead to technical lead. Worked as technical lead of EIT-funded project Unus Terra and continued development of the EIT hackathon winner. Provided gamification consultation for women's health app JoiiCare and workplace wellbeing app Lua Healthcare.
- University of Oulu collaborations: Led research-based collaborations as technical lead from Ikune's side. Part of Meta Pilot Factory, including SaunaTonttu (a gamified mobile app integrating sensor and user data with research on health effects of sauna) and Legend of Alumnus (a serious game for indoor air quality measurement utilizing smart campus sensor data). Steered students to develop both gamified prototypes.
- Hackathons & competitions: Won EIT hackathon with Unus Terra, a serious game fostering social distancing during COVID-19. Won runner-up prize at Hack the Urban Circular Economy hackathon with Roinaa, a gamified recycling app. Selected as 1 of 6 companies to represent Finland in Sendai, Japan for disaster prevention impact work.
- Research: Contributed to multiple scientific papers on gamification and serious games.

Full-stack development on high-traffic consumer products serving millions of users. Built and maintained web applications, mobile apps, and content platforms. Led frontend rewrites and mobile development while working with cloud infrastructure and legacy systems.
- e-kontakti.fi mobile app: Led development from initial idea to app stores, working as scrum master and facilitating communication between design and project management. Built React Native app with E2E tests and build pipelines using Fastlane. Key features included memberships and payments.
- e-kontakti.fi website: Led frontend migration from legacy to modern React frontend.
- High-traffic platforms: Contributed to development of iltalehti.fi and telkku.com, platforms serving millions of daily users. Launched Iltalehti Alekoodit service from concept to production.
- Mentorship: Served as mentor in Alma Media's trainee program, guiding new developers.
